PotW: Curve and Dot
Sunday, February 25th, 2007I’m not very happy with this shot, but it’s slim pickin’s this week. I still like the basic idea, but I wish the moon was in focus.

I took this shot on the same hike as the HDR shots. This one just had naturally exceptional lighting. I love the mood in this photo.
While hiking last Monday, I was in a pretty place with harsh light. So I took some bracketed shots with the intent of putting them together later. I’ve now spent most of the weekend doing that, so here is a small write-up of what I finally ended up doing. This is a 100% Linux solution, [...]
I’m quite pleased with the way this came out. The smoothness of the water flow contrasts really nicely with the dry sand next to it. The only nit I have is the tiny rock in the top left corner.
Yet another spare week. But at least it made me take a few shots. Here’s a dirty monitor. I do like the lines in this picture, but it kind of lacks a focal point.
Got this guy at the zoo last Monday, even though the post is a day late. Does watching a picture of a gorilla yawning make you yawn? Writing this post is making me yawn.
Another week with very little photography. But I did get out for an hour today. Here’s the most creative shot I took. (No, I did not actually wait for the train to flatten the penny. Maybe another day.)
My standard for picture of the week seems to be dropping to “anything I shot during that week.” But at least it keeps me shooting. Here’s a hang glider I watched while at the top of Montecito Peak. If it’s you, let me know and I’ll get you a print or something.
I’ve been busy with other projects so today I shot my first pictures of the year. The rat pic didn’t come out well, so here you have a random picture of my TV. I think seeing the pattern in the TV as well as the one displayed on the TV is kind of neat, but [...]
I missed a week mostly on purpose. I’m late in posting, but this one counts for last week. It’s Ethan proudly showing off the Christmas card he made his grandfather. I’m really happy with how well this picture captured the moment, even though there are several technical problems.
I'm Tim and this is my blog. I just started a year-long trip around the world on 7/1/08.
