Also late, but not as much as last week’s post. This was taken in The Narrows of Zion National Park. Great fall color. Too bad I didn’t have a tripod to make it really sharp.

I’m very late in posting this, but I did take it in the appropriate week. This is a shot of one of the emerald pools in Zion.

I finally had a chance to check out some of the results of the Zaca fire. Here’s the shot that I think captures it the most.

Everybody’s waiting for their wave to start. I should’ve gone for some more DOF, but it was just a quick grab shot.

After a long hiatus, I’m hopefully going to stick with the picture of the week again. This is a blue whale as we saw it coming out of the water yesterday. The shot is cropped a bit, and shot with a 200mm lens, but that was still very close.

Here’s Mr. Blue looking out at the world from his wheel. He wouldn’t actually run in it, but as a hiding place it can be OK.

Another trip to the zoo, but the gorillas didn’t want to budge. So here’s a snow leopard instead. A beautiful cat, but sadly endangered.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any rat shots. Here’s a quick grab. It’s too bad that the rats don’t like the flash, but even with that I should take more pictures than I do.
