I didn’t take any pictures this week. I tried some last-minute shots of Fiona, but they didn’t come out. So you get this total cop-out picture of my bicycle lights. I’ve never actually done something like this, so at least I briefly tried something new.

Yesterday President Bush signed the military commissions act. Among other things it says that people who aren’t U.S. citizens (like me) and are accused of terrorism can be held indefinitely without trial. I went to the beach Thursday night because the clouds promised a great sunset. The sunset came through, but I don’t think I really made the most of it. Perhaps a longer lens would allow me to get more pretty sky in, or something.

On Tuesday the sunset looked promising and I did get out in time. I had a lot of fun taking 200mm shots with birds in the foreground. This is the one I like best, although I’d prefer it if the surfer was going the other way.

I went out for a sunset on Thursday but missed it by 15 minutes. Then I was planning to shoot some this afternoon but it was raining. So I ended up with the stand by of cute rat pictures. I hoped to get rats on a rope, but they didn’t like being on there. I [...]
